We already knew that Rio was a pretty cool city even before it was nominated for the 2014 Fifa World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics. This unparalleled, double act of superstar events will entice the world to the city’s lovely shores. In anticipation, public money has been injected into the city and the outcome is clearly working.
