The Top 5 Salad Spots In Buenos Aires

Those who have spent an extended period of time in Buenos Aires can tell you that finding a salad that goes beyond the barriers of tired tomate, onion and lettuce can be trying at times.  Lucky for you, Oasis has compiled a short yet delicious list of our go to spots when steak just won’t cut it. Get healthy after the jump!

1. The Food Factory

Although located directly across from Palermo darling Oui Oui, Factory’s food speaks for itself.  The salads reflects the decor; clean and fresh.  We usually opt for the Brie Salad (field greens, beets, cherry tomatoes, sundried fruits and brie with a honey mustard dressing).  Note that their salads are quite large and meant to share.(Nicaragua 6055, Palermo / T. 4774-7271)

2. Salgado Alimentos

Specializing in pastas, this funky Villa Crespo mainstay also does a  great classic salpicón with passion fruit vinigarette.  They also have, of course, pasta salads for those looking to carb it up a bit.(Ramírez de Velazco 401, Villa Crespo /T. 4854-1336)

3. Nsalad

With a new improved and somewhat extensive menu, N has variety from the healthy (salmon with roasted grapes and cucumber) to the heavy (angel hair pasta with crispy bacon and cherry tomatos).  Their delivery is speedy and, oh they also have  hotpockets and bagels to boot.(Tucumán 269, Microcentro / T. 5258-8866)

4. I Central Market

Part market, part restaurant with views of the canal in Puerto Madero, “I” boasts several salads that change with the season and a make your options with ingredients such as pistachios, crispy bacon and blue cheese.  Our personal fave is the Rosemary Chicken Salad with roasted peppers, mozzarella, caramelized walnuts and honey vinaigrette, but go for the salad bar and have it your way (sorry BK).(Pierina Dealessi, @ M. Güemes, Puerto Madero / T. 5775-0330)

5. Kansas

North American style Argee institution may be a rip off of US chain Houstons, but you know what? It’s pretty damned awesome.  Their salads are no exception.  Give the Chicken Caesar or Bistro Salad a try.  Trust us, you won’t regret it!(Del Libertador, Av. 4625, Las Cañitas  / T. 4776-4100)Surely there are some other great salads around Buenos Aires.  What are you favorites?
