Thoroughly discussed, reviewed, tested, and disputed, the local folk at Planeta Joy have brought forth the best pizzas BA has to offer for your tasting pleasure. You can be sure these all pies have been put through their paces, so don’t hesitate. What’s your favorite pizza in Buenos Aires?

Considering almost half the population of Buenos Aires boasts Italian heritage, it makes sense that Napolitana pizza is one of the best options around. El Cuartito, serving the public for 75 years, offers a great classic with fresh tomato sauce, garlic, parsley, and mozzarella cheese.

Fugazza is a unique type of pizza, created by an Italian named Agustín Banchero and brought to Argentina by his son Juan. Made without tomato sauce and with an excess of onions, a fugazza pizza from Banchero will definitely satisfy any onion craving you might ever have. If you’re feeling bold, try fugazza’s slightly heavier cousin, fugazzetta, at La Mezzetta, where you can eat standing up or opt to take your pizza home and attempt to devour it there. One portion of this cheese filled, onion laden masterpiece will keep you full for 24 hours!

Head to Grappa for a thinner pizza experience, and make sure to try the different yet delicious spinach with cream pizza. It’s certainly an intriguing option, but that’s not to say it’s not worth it!

Morelia was one of the first pizza joints to open in the chic area of Las Cañitas, and it’s relaxed atmosphere and flavorful pies are what keep locals coming back for more. The best according to Planeta Joy is the one with caramelized tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and fresh arugula for a peppery kick.

Guerrín, located on the bustling Corrientes Avenue, is one of the older pizza places in the city and is often packed with people just waiting to get a slice of their famous Super Guerrin. This delicious pizza is laden with mozzarella cheese, ham, red bell peppers, and onions for a tasty, satisfying, and classic Buenos Aires meal!

Although located outside the main tourist zone of Buenos Aires, Burgio is a great addition to the city’s pizza menu. Opened in 1928, the place offers great deals on delicious pizza and many locals say the best way to enjoy it is to order a slice of plain mozzarella at the bar along with a cold beer and just savor the flavor.

Filo is a pizza joint unlike any other, and their pizza is pretty unique as well. For those who like to eat ouside the box, try the pizza Ai Fruto di Mare. Made with a ripe tomato sauce flavored with fresh parsely and garlic and topped with various shellfish, this pizza is not for the faint of palate, but it is definitely worth a taste!

The pizza at Piola, located in Recoleta (and now in Palermo), is a work of art. Made on thin dough and cooked in a traditional pizza oven, each pie is delicious and satisfying. For many, the best option on the menu is the pizza Mantova, made with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, brie, arugula, and carpaccio for a salty finish.

One of the newer pizza options in Buenos Aires, Siamo Nel Forno is famous for making pizzas the way they do in the Italian countryside. The thin crust pizza with goat cheese, parmesan, mozzarella, garlic, and pepper is divine, and when they add fresh spinach leaves and extra virgin olive oil, the result is to die for.
