Breathtaking 4 Bedroom Beachfront Home in Jose Ignacio
My Way
Sitting smack in the middle of a strip of almost untouched Uruguayan coastline between La Barra and Jose Ignacio, My Way is a modern classic of Punta del Este design. Renowned Chilean architect Mathias Klotz has created a fascinating structure, which appears completely closed from the street but is completely open to the beach behind it, granting both privacy and stunning views.
The living room opens to both the beach and the pool/deck area, and sliding doors open completely on both sides, creating a seamless indoor/outdoor feel. Another highlight of the design is the upstairs master suite, which seemingly floats on the sea. This suite has three excellent views: one over the sea in front, one towards the newly chic fishing village Jose Ignacio and another toward the sea overlooking a shipwreck. The other three bedrooms are located on the ground floor, all along the same corridor. Two bedrooms are identical, and share a bathroom, and at the end of the corridor there is another suite with a king-sized bed, private bathroom and a full view of the sea and shipwreck. In total the house has roughly 20 meters of unobstructed ocean views. In front of the house, off to the side, is a small room with a bath, a kitchenette and a double bed where the caretakers live. This room can be reserved as well for an additional cost if guests prefer to use it for themselves.
Interior design is by Patricia Torres, and standout features include the 5 meter- long solid wood kitchen table which seats 10 and an elegant, clean palette of white, light grey and brown with accents of color coming from carpets, pillows and blankets.
