If you’re a woman with a shoe fetish, take a minute off from your vacation and head to the BA’s most fashionable address in Palermo Soho. Cult favorite Mishka sells self-styled “shoes for princesses.” Each season, designer Marcelo Canton, a former architect, uses a different theme or material inspiration. One recent season featured structured ladylike bags and shoes made with tight braids of multicolored leather.

Speaking about his business reconversion, he says: “I was interested by the volumes and forms I could do with shoes, my knowledge of architecture really helps me when designing bags and shoes.” The fanciful, handsomely made designs focus on unusual heel shapes, striking textures, and innovative materials to create avant garde, elegant footwear. The boots, flats, and heels on display tend to run narrow and trend toward wearable art. All of the shoes are made in Argentina and custom-made sizes and details can also be arranged.Mishka shoes are currently available only in Buenos Aires and London.
The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 11am to 8:30pm.
