Get The Look – South American Street Style

We thought our readers could get some inspiration from the colourful, eclectic and unconventional styles of South America. We’ve trawled through some of our favorite street style blogs to bring you five great looks from places like Buenos Aires, Punta del Este and Rio de Janeiro, and five pieces to incorporate the look into your own style, read on for more!

The Velvet Pant

Via OTC – Buenos Aires Street Style

Spotted in Buenos Aires, velvet makes it’s return from the 90s in a bold  and elegant way. Get the look with these 5-pocket velvet jeans from J Brand (below), which are cut to a practical fit, but the intense color and delicate velvet makes them interesting enough to transition from day to night.

The Sequin Clutch

Via Insinto de Vestir

As any J. Crew/Jenna Lyons aficionada will tell you, sequins work with everything. As does a good clutch. Brasilian fashion blogger Alana Ruas posted this minimalist look to her blog, but the gold sequins and gold necklace keep it far from boring. Kate Spade’s Sparkle Summit Agathe Clutch offers a more structured take on this look, with magnetic closure and black patent leather trim.

The Patterned Jean

Via lookbook.nu/andytorres

Andy Torres, the it-girl/accomplished Mexican fashion blogger poses above in floral print jeans by 7 For All Mankind in Punta Del Este. Of course short season is long gone in Punta, so these fun jeans seem like the perfect attire.

Electric Blue

Via lookbook.nu/santiagoartemis

Electric blue is a shade to take seriously, eccentric fashion designer and blogger Santiago Artmeis was almost head-to-toe in it at BA Fashion Week. A fun way to nail this on-trend color is on your feet! We die for these suede heels by Pour Le Victoire.

The Statement Necklace

Via Chictopia

We can’t get enough of Alana Ruas’ looks, and her statement necklace here is quite dazzling, and elevates the simple jumpsuit she’s wearing in Rio de Janeiro to a truly chic look. Give your outfits a pick-me-up with this number by Kenneth Jay Lane.
